Introduction to Mindful Eating
Deborah Kauffmann, RD, LDN of Mindfulness-Based Nutrition Counseling
Nancy Hensler, Ph.D. and Kimberly Zahm, M.A. of Towson Unversity Counseling Center
Tuesday, February 24th, 5:30-7:00PM
Center for Student Diversity, UU201, Towson University, Baltimore, MD
Learn how to end mindless eating and enjoy a balanced relationship with food. Mindful eating is the application of mindfulness principles to greeting and eating what's on your plate. Mindfulness can help individuals break free from routine eating habits by examining the thoughts, feelings and internal pressures that affect how and why you eat (or don't eat). It advocates self and body acceptance and offers a non-judgmental and compassionate approach to eating.
